Riddle: 3 men are renting a hotel room. The Manager tells the men that the price is $30.00. The 3 men split the cost and pay $10.00 each. Later that night, the manager realizes he made a mistake, the room was only $25.00. The manager then calls over the Bell Boy and gives him 5 $1.00 bills and asks him to return it to the 3 men. On the way to the room the Bell Boy can not figure out how he is going to split the $5.00 evenly between the 3 men. Just as the Bell Boy reaches the door, he decides that he will give each man $1.00 and put the other $2.00 in his pocket.
With that in mind lets do the math.
The 3 men paid $10.00 each for a total of $30.00
The manager made a mistake and gave the Bell Boy $5.00 to return to the men.
The Bell Boy gave each man $1.00 back and kept $2.00 for himself.
If each man recieved $1.00 back then they would have paid $9.00 each.
$9.00 times 3 men equals $27.00, plus the $2.00 the Bell Boy kept equals $29.00.
